Meet Becky MS, RDN, CLT,
Assistant Coach

Hi, I'm Becky! I spent 13 years of my career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the hospital setting helping hundreds of patients improve their nutrition and lower their risk of chronic illness. I also have experience in the outpatient oncology setting, where I quickly realized the power is truly in prevention and not the treatment of disease. Which is why I’m so excited to be here with all of you at Nutrient Rich Life!

I’m an open book when it comes to sharing my own health journey, from my history of eating disorders starting at the young age of 13 to my healing journey with Hashimoto’s.

After having my two beautiful boys, Griffin and Calvin, my health quickly went south. Suddenly plagued with massive fatigue, brain fog, constipation, daily headaches, depression...a whole slew of symptoms that just "weren't me". I spent several years of my life being referred from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Nobody was able to give me any answers and all of the tests always came back "normal".

I slipped into a really dark place of depression and fear as I felt completely out of control with how to "fix myself". I continued to do my own research and didn't take "everything is normal" for an answer anymore, as I most definitely didn't feel normal. Finally, after years of many dead ends, I requested my PCP test my thyroid antibodies (since they had previously only been checking my TSH which was always "normal"). My thyroid antibodies came back >1000!! Finally a diagnosis...Hashimoto's.

From there I continued to bounce around from doctor to doctor where I was told there basically was nothing I could do and that it was a genetic disease. We would just "monitor it"...which basically meant waiting for it to get worse then treat those symptoms. That did not sit well with me. My background in clinical nutrition and my passion for research led me down a different path.

Autoimmune diseases cause inflammation directed against your own body. This is where the light bulb went off and the game changed - INFLAMMATION!! THAT IS SOMETHING I CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT!

So I started down a journey to reduce the inflammation in my own body - and from there I finally started to heal.

Through diet and lifestyle, I started reducing inflammation in my body by balancing my blood sugars, eating more whole nutrient dense type foods, and focusing on anti-inflammatory type foods and less inflammatory processed foods. I avoided high histamine foods and learned all about not just what foods but the quality of the foods I was eating. I adjusted the way in which I worked out to reduce added stress, and focused on things like my mindset and my sleep hygiene, and hydration. I eliminated foods that weren’t working with my body for now. Slowly over time, I started to come out of that dark place. I’m still on my own healing journey today, but having more and more better days than bad days.

I then realized I am not the only one going through something like this… there are sooo many struggling with these “syndromes” or inflammatory-type diseases that are told there is no hope and that it is genetic, and that’s simply not true. We CAN feel better. So THIS is now my mission – to spread awareness, that just because you’ve been diagnosed with a condition or syndrome or whatever it might be. It doesn’t identify you and you can do so much nutritionally to improve your health.

Most recently, I’ve dedicated time expanding my knowledge in the area of food sensitivity, and now as a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT), I’m specially trained to help you identify foods that may be keeping you sick and inflamed and develop an individual roadmap for you to keep inflammatory markers low long term, ultimately reducing your risk of chronic disease. I’ve personally gone through the process of identifying which foods my body is sensitive to and can speak personally to its amazing results. MRT food sensitivity testing was a vital piece in my healing journey so naturally getting certified to help others was the next step.

Nutrition coaching feels like home to me. When “work” doesn’t feel like work… you know you’re in the right place. Which is exactly how I feel here with Nutrient Rich Life.

Together with my science education, over a decade of experience and my real-life journey, I’m ready to make sure you can live the most “nutrient rich life” possible, seeing change without (safely) giving up all of the foods you love!

My health journey has now become my super power, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. Having struggled to find a practitioner that would truly listen to me, I have set out on a mission to not only listen with full intention but offer a space where change can actually take place.
